Meet Katie Schaffer, a compassionate and experienced therapist who has a deep passion for
helping people overcome their struggles and find hope and healing. She is a graduate of the
Townsend Institute at Concordia University Irvine, where she earned her master's degree in
clinical mental health counseling. Prior to that, she completed her bachelor's degree in
elementary and special education from Grand Canyon University.
Katie has spent 8 years as an educator in both private and public-school settings, gaining
valuable insight into the unique challenges that individuals face in their personal and
professional lives. She has worked in Christian private practice and school-based therapy
settings, helping people navigate anxiety, self-esteem, codependency, relationship difficulties,
life transitions, and professional burnout.
Katie's therapeutic approach is centered around the whole person. She integrates psychodynamic, experiential, and emotionally focused therapies with inner child work, inner parts work, and faith from an attachment-based lens to create a personalized therapeutic experience that caters to everyone’s unique needs and circumstances. Her goal is to help her clients achieve greater well-being and fulfillment.
In addition to her counseling services, Katie has also created mental health journals to support her clients in their journey towards greater health and healing. These journals are designed to help individuals identify and explore their thoughts, emotions, and behaviors to gain self-awareness. Katie believes that journaling can be a powerful tool for self-reflection and personal growth, and she is committed to providing her clients with the resources they need to thrive.
Katie understands that seeking help can be a daunting task, and she is committed to creating a safe and supportive space for her clients. She empowers her clients to live authentically, be vulnerable, and demonstrate resilience by sharing their stories. She believes that by sharing our experiences and stories, we can find healing and growth as individuals. She is a firm believer that God has a unique purpose for each one of us, and she considers it a privilege to walk alongside her clients as they discover and live out that purpose. Her goal is to help her clients find a sense of wholeness and integration in their lives, including their mind, body, and spirit.
